Taida Pasic arrested

Strange things happen in our little country... Last wednesday, januari 25th 2006, 18 year old schoolgirl Taida Pasic was arrested because there would be something wrong with her residence permit.

She was transported out of her class in Winterswijk and brought to a jail in Doetinchem. Her lawyer wasn't allowed to talk to the police. Later she was taken to Rotterdam where she is waiting to be moved out of the country, back to Kosovo.

She is being refused to do her exams in the Netherlands to gain access to international universities.

Our minister Rita Verdonk (photo) said earlier that in cases like this she wouldn't be too strict but in this case she thinks the action is just.

This all is taken to court by her foster parents and they will pass sentence next friday.
